- Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition’s Raila followed with 40.8% of the total votes
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi is a perturbed political scientist this morning after his wish was thwarted in his own opinion polls
He wished Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga to lead in the polls
On contrary, the results were disturbing after his preferred non-follower led noting that Ngunyi is a diehard supporter of Raila and spends his moments disregarding Ruto’s presidency.
Ngunyi had shared a poll on his Twitter, seeking to find out who was the most preferred presidential candidate between frontrunners ODM leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
He provided four options; Raila and his running Martha Karua, Ruto and his running mate Rigathi Gachagua, the undecided and those who will not vote.
A total of 89, 715 people participated in the poll which he shared on the bird app on the afternoon of Friday, May 27.
Deputy President William Ruto’s win
From the results of the poll seen by safinews.co.ke , the Ruto-Gachagua ticket emerged as the most preferred group.
Of the total respondents, 51.3% said they will vote for UDA presidential candidate in the August 9 General Election
The Raila-Karua followed closely with 40.8% of the total votes.
Another 3% said they were yet to decide who they will vote for while 4.9% said they will not be participating in the election
It’s quite interesting to note that Mutahi Ngunyi has said on several occasions that the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party presidential candidate will win the August elections.
The findings by Ngunyi mirror, two other polls conducted by Radio Africa Group, and political analyst David Makali used similar data collection techniques.
Out of 33,722 participants who took part in David Makali’s survey, 56 % said they vote for DP Ruto while only 39 % supported Raila Odinga.
In another poll done by The Star Newspaper, the William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua ticket still emerged more popular than the Raila
