The human rights activists, Reverend Timothy Njoya has dismissed reports on social media platforms that religious leaders were given money by President William Ruto at State House on Wednesday
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Friday 28th, Njoya wandered why people were quick to judge religious leaders and malign their them that they were offered money during the meeting
“How can you imagine that Rev Njoya can be given money by Ruto? Would you imagine? If I was not given by Kenyatta when I used to go to State House in Mombasa, how come now?,” Njoya exclaimed
He divulged that they told President William Ruto that he should deal 2with corruption in his administration to which he responded positively
“We told him that he should dismantle the corruption system. He responded to most od the issues very positively at that point and he was not under any influence or coercion,” Njoya stated
He mentioned that they also asked Dr Ruto to stop giving money to church but he did not give them a response.
“That one we said very very clearly, some things he did not respond to them. We asked him many things but he seemed to agree,” he added
According to religious leaders, they exuded confidence that they left state house having hopes that Ruto had heard their grievances and concerns about the state of the nation

Consequently, the Head of State, conceded to the pressure where he’s promised to listen to their concerns directing church leaders to lead multi-sectoral team that will emanate with consensus after consultative meeting
He met religious leaders from across the country drawn from National Council of Churches of Kenya, Kenya Conference of Catholic Churches and Ministers and Evangelical Alliance of Kenya to discuss the State of the Nation after relentless protests by millions of GenZs who have vowed to bring sanity in the governance sector
