Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has implored President William Ruto to stop listening advises given by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa since they have fuelled total rejection of his administration by Mt Kenya people

While aaddressing mourners at Ol Kalou on Wednesday during the burial of late Ol Kalou lawmaker David Kiaharao, Gachagua told President Ruto on face that impeaching him was like cutting a mgumo tree from central people, they will not forget.

Gachagua told President that they voted for him in 2022 overwhelmingly but it would be hard to get same votes in coming general election 2027

He claimed that some of legislators from Mt Kenya region have sacrificed their own son as kingpin and development for political expediency

However, Gachagua has called upon the mourners to respect President while giving his speech and let their differences be displayed during political campaigns but not funeral services

He said every leader should be given time to address mourners irregardless and despite of their political ideologies

Gachagua also took swipe on Deputy President Kithure Kindiki over his remarks at Tharaka Nithi about the inheritance of the deceased member of parliament. He said according to African culture, no one should talk about sharing of deceased’s properties or wealth before buried

Consequently, he invoked Standing Orders 51 Sub Section 1, asking the Speaker of National Assembly Moses Wetangula where does he draws lockastandi to allow some legislators discuss about his conduct whereas he doesn’t sit at the August House to apply the right of reply as enshrined under the Standing Orders
