President William Ruto has on Tuesday 30th July nominated Ms. Dorcas Oduor as the new Attorney General after former AG Justin Muturi was recently appointed as new Cabinet Secretary for Public Service.
In a letter submitted at the National Assembly and read by Speaker Moses Wetangula, the Head of State has nominated Ms Oduor in the position of Attorney General subject for the approval by the Appointment Committee at National Assembly
The letter which has been signed by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, has two individuals to constitute the whole Cabinet after the President deliberately left AG position and the CS nominee for East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development in order to consult widely
Ms Oduor is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Masters of Arts in International Conflict Management (UoN), a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree (UoN) and a Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.
She is currently serving as Secretary Public Prosecution at the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). She has previously served in various capacities among them: Deputy Director Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Head of Economic, International and Emerging Crimes Department) (ODPP), Deputy Chief State Counsel and as a State Counsel the (department of Public Prosecution) at the then Office of the Attorney General.
His Excellency, the President has nominated Ms Beatrice Askul Moe for the position of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development subject for the approval by Parliament.
Moe holds Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences [Social Work] from Catholic University of East Africa.
She has served as County Executive Committee Member for Water, Irrigation, Agriculture and Land Reclamation and in Turkana County Government
She was also served as Director of Rift Valley Water Services Board
