Warned local leaders from interfering with the security of locals by sponsoring arrests and threats
East African Community, the ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Hon. Peninah Malonza-EGH has warned security team at Mutomo Sub County to stop mishandling youths and taking their phones forcefully.
Speaking at Mutomo Special School where she was donating free leather shoes and relief food as well as sanitary towels, Ms Malonza threatened to take stern action if such unlawful incidents happens again
This comes after several youths believed to be supporting the government were arrested and their phones confiscated by detectives without being charged of any wrongdoing
According to CS Malonza, some of the senior police officers may risk being transferred for allowing unlawful detention and mistreatment under their watch
The two were MC Msumeno and Sonko wa Mutha as commonly known by their stage names
She ordered the confiscated phones be returned forthwith before taking the next cause of action
But, according to the police attached at Directorate of Criminal Investigations is that the said phones had already been transferred to Nairobi for forensic investigations in what they believed were used to fuel animosity
However, Malonza weighed in on the local leaders believed to be sponsoring heinous actions meted against innocent youths who are exercising their democratic right to keep off before they go bear-knuckle
She spoke at Mutomo Special School and Kitoo Comprehensive School where she donated pair of free leather shoes sponsored by Zero Barefoot Campaign and Environment under the Patronage of Miss Charlene Ruto- Daughter of the President William Ruto
Malonza further pledged to deliver another 2000 pair of leather shoes from the State Department of Arid and Semi Arid Areas as she delivered relief food to all the schools she visited
