Member of Parliament for Kitui Central Constituency Hon. Makali Mulu has received all admirations and heroic messages from across the country for speaking the truth at the floor of the House
Makali while contributing on the motion of impeaching Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, become the only MP who opposed the removal by impeachment of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, branding all other legislators as dishonest and malicious
“Let’s be honest with ourselves, majority of you are doing exactly what is being described in this motion” MP Makali Mulu confronts his fellow MPs for subscribing to the ‘shareholders’ mindset and resource distribution style DP Gachagua is being accused of by his detractors
The Wiper vocal lawmaker also slammed Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula for taking sides and also gagging him from expressing his mind while on the floor of the House
“I can see a very deliberate move to curtail me from saying what I want to say. Honourable Speaker, you need to protect me; you have been protecting everybody who has spoken. Unless also you are on the same side as those who are supporting. I don’t think it’s fair.” He expressed
Makali expressesed concerns during a parliamentary session about being restricted in his ability to speak freely.
“On the issue of shareholding, honourable members, let’s be very honest with ourselves. We are all politicians. We have been voted in. We represent constituencies. How many of you can say that you are not practicing what is being explained in this motion? Bold Makali Mulu who is also eyeing for Kitui County gubernatorial position questioned those who want Gachagua axed
Whie defending himself from the MPs who were rattled by his stance, Makali told the MPs that they are all the same as the Deputy President,they are no different from him..
“Should you be harassing the DP or the President? The person who took the oath as the Head of the Executive is the President, not the DP.,” he candidly underlined
The majority of MPs have mounted pressure wanting Gachagua out of the State House matrix as most of central region legislators have chosen to avoided expressing themselves publicly awaiting the voting exercise
On the other hand, Gachagua is already at standby at his Official DP’s Harambee Annex Building with contingent of supporters to storm Parliamentary Buildings at 5PM when his time for defence shall clock on Tuesday 8th October, 2024
