The family of the retired Chief and former mayor Mandera town Mohamed Haji Bulow alias Kahiye has made a public apology to Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Mandera Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif over the utterances he made which were not taken lightly by the northerners

While addressing the Media on Tuesday 3nd, Kahiye noted that his words were taken out of proportion and were not meant to disrespect neither blackmail any north eastern leaders since they are elders whom should be accorded honour and much respect as they deserve

‘I was reacting to the allegations from Gachagua how north eastern leaders together with the proprietor of Eastleigh Business Bay Mall have deprived people of north parts of kenya of their development projects and instead of answering the claims, they started attacking him in order to create rift between somali community and gikuyu which wont work at all because they have long coexisted altogether

However, at the same time, Kahiye decamped former deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for Citizens Party and joined his rival bosse’s President William Ruto’s party United Democratic Alliance citing pressure from the family and his community to bow down

“After hearing from different people including my mother who told me that Gachagua is not a good leader. I have today defected his DCP party and decided to leave him peacefully and joined other parts of kenya because he is a bitter man, although he might be meaning well for the northern people but still, he has his loopholes_he walks around with over three hundred goons, any good leader loved by the followers should not hire security machinery and goons to protect him”. He stated

He alluded about Gachagua’s remarks that somali community should not concentrate on investing in Nairobi as some of the reasons of weighing his move while himself (Gachagua) has a posh and lovely home in Karen.

“This is uncalled for in as much as we were his political ideology but he seems to be veering off oftenly since such sentiments have a clear indication of isolating northern people from interacting with other Kenyans whereases one of the national educational goals of kenya is national unity and integrating with others when you invest in other parts of the country

The respected eminent persons representative of north eastern region, also apologized to the owner of the largest mall in East Africa’s Eastleigh’s skies Business Bay Mall Mr Abdiwali Hassan, calling for pardon since the hullabaloos made have indirectly involved him whereas he’s an investor and a business-oriented person not a politician by owning Ksh 25 billion worth project.

Flanked by other elders from the family and larger north eastern people, the former mayor also sought forgiveness from Eldas lawmaker Aden Keynan and Dadaab legislator Farah Maalim by damaging their reputations through the utterances he made which were misconstrued

He had accused the Mandera Governor of stealing public money and gifting his son a KSh 100M plot in Karen and raised SHA theft allegations against CS Duale

Asked whether he was apologizing to the power and not to the people either under duress or intimidation, the respected eminent elder dismissed any coercion and noted that it was out of a willing heart to seek reconciliation instead of attacking their fellow leaders

In a quick rejoinder, aspiring youthful leaders from the region led by Abdirashid Mohamed Cato reiterated that their main agenda was to escort mzee to issue public apology to the health CS and other leaders who have worked hard for the development of the Kenya and northern part of the country

He made clear that joining President William Ruto’s bottom up economic transformative agenda would elevate many regions and people from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment instead of attacking those helping him to actualize the flagship progames including access to affordable housing and primary health care
