Governor Charity Ngilu today fulfilled her infrastructure support pledge to Muvitha secondary school in Yatta/Kwa Vonza Ward, Kitui Rural Sub-County after she delivered a Sh. 500,000 cheque.
The county boss was represented by Chief Officer in the Office of the Governor Geoffrey Kimanzi Zakayo who said the funds would facilitate construction of a dining hall for the institution.
CO Zakayo reiterated the Governor’s commitment to bolster education standards in the county especially through infrastructural and bursary support.
“These students are the future of Kitui and the nation at large. That’s why our Governor is very passionate about the welfare of learners in our county,” the Chief Officer told the congregation of students, teachers, parents and board of management.
The principal Alfred Wambua commended Governor Ngilu’s invaluable support for the school community.
“We can’t thank the Governor enough. She is a leader of her word. These monies will go a long way in guaranteeing an enabling environment for the students and staff,” he noted.
CO Zakayo also intensified Ngilu’s clarion call on the Kitui electorate to support Raila Odinga – Martha Karua bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 9 General Election.
“Our Governor has shown us the way. Azimio La Umoja is the best bet for the Kamba community to sit at the table where the national cake is subdivided,” he said.
He emphasized that under Raila-led government, the community will benefit from increased resources, local industries, numerous employment opportunities, adequate water provision and food security.
“Let’s not be duped by empty rhetoric. Wheelbarrow politics cannot guarantee Kenyans shared prosperity or real solutions to problems facing them which are largely economic in nature.
“But Raila Odinga and Martha Karua have a clear agenda for the country. They stand for economic liberation, an enhanced universal healthcare system and social protection,” noted Mr Zakayo.
The wananchi affirmed their solid support for Governor Ngilu’s leadership in the national succession politics insisting that the country’s future was safe in Baba’s hands.
