Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey has blasted some of Members of Parliament on appointment committee for asking, “ some pedestrians questions’’.

Appearing on NTV tonight on Tuesday 18th October, during the hustler billionaire interview, Cheraragey said some of legislators in National Assembly ought to be taken for question and answer session for they ask iirelevant questions

Asked by NTV’s Mark Maasai, what kind of questions that irked him most, Cherargey said that, the question from Pokot South Member of Parliament David Pkosing on how Aisha Jumwa acquired degree certificate with a D- in KCSE was uncouth

“A question from MP asking how would someone acquire Degree having gotten D- in KCSE is absurd, they don’t know someon can do certificate, diploma then proceed to degree programmes and acquire certificate.

I think these MPs are just but there without basic facts of the law and academic procedures, I wouldn’t expect that from a second term legislator,’’ Cherargey charged.

Cherargey debunked the myths that President William Ruto didi  due diligence to come up with the names of people nominated to be Cabinet Secretaries

“President didn’t come up with names, he did thorough check grounds and found that some of the cases were political, he therefore proceeded to pick the names, forwarded to appointment committee for onwards vetting and approval,’’ He added.

Cherargey further added that there are so many people walking scot free with murder cases and other active court cases but they have never been convicted, “the law is very clear that everyone is innocent until proven guilty by the court of law, let us not politicize the court cases,’’. Cherargey posed.

However, Nyamira Senator Okongo Omogen, challenged Cherargey that the law is clear someone should have cleaned his or her name before the court of law

“My friend, you can’t call judges and relevant institutions, tell them to lessen or withdraw charges for some individuals and then come here in national television telling the country that, there was a due diligence.

I am worried of this country, there will be an anarchy because Kenyans are still watching, if you bring in someone who has pending court case and appoint them to the public position, then what next, we shall all walk and say the law is not there to stop us holding such positions and doing all mess in broad day light,’’ Omogen worried.
