Mutula Jnr cheats death as 4 left dead Masimba Market, Mombasa road

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has cheated death after the hungry and angry mob meted out stones to his vehicle at Kiboko area Masimba on Mombasa road.

In the fracas, four people were left dead after General Service Unit officers (GSU) indiscriminately fired at the protesters who were chanting of their destroyed crops by the wildlife

It caught the government unaware forcing the President Uhuru Kenyatta to order thorough probe of the police involved in killings as well compensating the aggrieved parties

Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi has since gone there to normalize the situation and calmed the residents that government through KWS will pay off the victims

Taking into his Twitter account on Thursday 2nd June, Mutula said that he had to run for his dear life after the irate protesters hurled out his car while was on his way from campaigns  

“I ran into a violent demonstration at Masimba near kiboko . We escaped narrowly , after the stones were hurled indiscriminately at my vehicle . Motorists should avoid that section of msa road,” He twitted 

According to reports from the ground is that the vexed mob was demonstrating over perennial human-wildlife conflicts that has left their crops ravaged without compensation or any signs of indemnification from Kenya wildlife service 

Residents have been accusing local leaders for not taking up the matters seriously as required in the constitution to write a demand letter, attached with supporting documents for seeking legal redress from KWS for their victims 

“Farms have been destroyed day in day out and our leaders are just catwalking without demanding justice for their people whom they represent, what an irresponsibility?,” One of the victim identified as Mulwa was heard by bold safinews.co.ke, lamenting.

Mutula is vying for gubernatorial position on a Wiper ticket to succeed from Prof Kivutha Kibwana after his two terms tenure is coming to an end in the helm of Makueni County Boss since 2013
