Former Presidential Aspirant Dr Mukhisa Kituyi has been visited by Operation Linda Ugatuzi to discuss various matters on governance and politics
Mukhisa, who is ex-Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, UNCTAD, has a wealth of experience in governance and how prevailing Kenya’s problems can be dealt on
In his remarks, the lobby group’s chairperson Dr Fredrick Ogola, thanked Dr Kituyi for his warm, characterized with a jovial reception in his farm, showcasing his farm produce
“We requested the good doctor if he could accept to mentor us, be our patron with wisdom to guide our steps lest we stray since we believe he has good values stronger than steal,” Ogola requested.
Having been impressed and humbled by the acceptance of Dr Kituyi to become their patron, and mentor them as they advocate for just and transforming civil society groups from the current situation
He noted Mukhisa’s impressive performance in his previous portfolios and how he’s been shaping the world in engaging on in technology based agricultural economic activities
In his acceptance node, the politician cum governance expert, told the team of 5, who’d travelled all the way from Nairobi to Mbakalo village, Tongaren Constituency in Bungoma county, that the talks have began.
“Everyone can strike a match but very few can keep the fire burning. Enda Mseme, tumemtafuta Mpaka tukampata kwake Mbakalo, Naitiri Shambani,” Dr Mukhisa Kituyi accepted their humble recognition to his immense contributions in political space
He, however, surprised his guests as they noticed he normally watches International Media Houses, including CNN, BBC and Sky News-over local channels, for none seems to linger his screens
Agricultural Economic Activities
After retiring from 2022 politics, Mukhisa has been engaging in coffee plantation, sugar plantation, avocados, fish ponds among other cash crops
His farm depends on natural water from river without having to deploy an energy, in pumping the water by using only hydram pumps
Hydram pump works by using the momentum of falling water to pump a small quantity of that water high above it’s original sources. The pump is placed below a water source connected to it with a pipe called a drive pipe. Gravity feeds the water down the drive pipe to a chamber in the pump

The lobby group has so far taken over 16 petitions to the high court following weakened opposition that is seemingly failing to put government on toes by offering checks and balance using the locally available legal mechanisms
One of the petitions the group has enteered before the court is petition against hustler fund, against introduction of Unique Personal Identifier (UPI), petition against police brutality, against unconstitutional constitution of Cabinet, Cabinet level Appointments and the illegal Prime Secretary’s position
Others are petition against Finance Act 2023, Judicial Review of the Public Debt,
They also drafted a Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2022, where they collected over 7.8 million signatures but electoral body declined stating that there are no IEBC commissioners in office
Currently, OLJ is working on how to introduce the Non-Violent Approach as a means in which the citizen’s right to Self-Expression can be done but with a Solomonic Approach, peaceful pilgrimages
“Unlike leaders that condone violence and thus punish others using violence, non-violent leaders both need a mass movement to be successful as well a consent of the movement’s members,” Prof Fred Ogola, the leader of Operation Linda Jamii, Stated.
