Government Spokesperson Sen. Dr Isaac Mwaura has appealed to ladies to stop being lured by unkwon men with Kshs100 through dating sites, sadly end up being murdered in an Airbnb apartments 

In a weekly updates on Government’s Deliveries at KICC on Thursday 1st January, Mwaura, urged parental guidance to a girl child especially before attaining 18 years of age because many fall under victims at tender age

“Government has ordered the private security regulatory authority and the registrar of companies to register all AirBnBs in the country and every guests once they check in and out.

Additionally, Director of Criminal Investigations are following up leads to ascertain the elements who have been committing heinous acts to our beautiful girls,” Mwaura stated 

On matters agriculture, Dr Mwaura said that the government is in the process of procuring various types of fertilizers worth an estimated cost of Ksh. 28.2 billion. 

Government’s intervention on subsiding fertilizer has resulted to an increased production rate of 40 percentum compared to the same period under 

“We have already imported more than 7 million bags of fertilizers for the long rain season starting March and April. Our farmers can get these fertilizers on a subsidised prices at all national cereals and produce board centres across the country. 

We also want to urge farmers to practice maize and sorghum farming in the coming season so as to have high productivity rate for food security,” he advised  

He also revealed that government has imported edible oil from sunflower worth an estimated amount of Kshs 250 million which will reduce the cost of  cooking oil

On sugarcane farming, Mwaura said government has released Ksh213,000 for farmers supplying Nzoia Sugarcane Mill to be paid anytime where Chemilil has received over 191 million shillings 

Muhoroni Sugar Mill and Soy have received 250 million and 684 million shillings respectively 

The polio threat has been attributed to importation from a neighbouring country, as well as inadequate routine immunization, putting children at risk of infection.

“On 26th January, the government disbursed Ksh. 2.9 billion to 221,382 farmers in 24 counties through the Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund.- OGS Dr Isaac Mwaura

The Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC) has an annual loan demand of Ksh. 15 billion, against its revolving fund of Ksh. 4 billion per year resulting in a shortfall of Ksh 10 billion of unfinanced applications. 

“Today, more than 32,420 bags have been distributed to the early-planting counties of Narok, Nakuru, Bomet, Migori, Kisii, and Nyamira,”.- Dr Isaac Mwaura announced 

The e-voucher system enables the 6.4 million farmers registered under the Kenya Management Information System (KIAMIS) to access subsidized fertilizer.

The government has set a Guaranteed Minimum Return of Ksh 80, with Ksh 40 paid instantly when the farmer takes the produce to the factory, and the remaining half paid within a month.- OGS Dr Isaac Mwaura
