Makueni County Assembly Speaker Douglas Mbilu has been arrested
The second term speaker was arrested after he surrendered himself to Makueni Police Station.

Details of his arrest has not yet been established leaving concerned with the speculations of connections to last week’s anti government protests
However, details have emerged that he had been summoned to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations since last week but he not honour the summons
When he presented himself, he was bungled in a waiting land cruiser and sped off to unknown destination
His bodyguard Joram Kaungu had arrested on Friday and detained at Makueni Police Station before he was released on Saturday without arraignment in court
The axe also befall on Makueni County Assembly Majority Leader Francis Munyao who was arrested on Friday and arraigned at Makindu Law Court before being released on cash bail of Sh 100,000
