The Cabinet Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Urban Development James Macharia has temporarily stopped usage of Nairobi Expressway by commercial vehicles
In a statement sent to the newsrooms on Wednesday 6th July, The CS prevailed vehicles carrying more than seven passengers to halt a little bit to enable them undertake thorough investigation into the cause of serial accidents
Macharia, said once investigations are done comprehensively, the Ministry will not hesitate to share with the public and transport sector for the next cause of action
“Since Nairobi Expressway was launched by President President Uhuru Kenyatta on May 14th, there has been a lot of traffic accidents thus necessitated for the investigation to ascertain the cause of this.
More particularly, commercial passenger vehicles have been involved in many grisly accidents,” Part of the statement read
