Makali-Kawaya-Kinengo Pleads Ruto’s Favor for Ukambani Region

  • However, he also pleaded with the Head of State to consider appointing his main competitor in the recent concluded General Election, Bonnie Musambi for National Government position
  • Makali, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka and Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Kinengo pleaded with Ruto’s favor for Ukambani
  • Dr Makali told Ukambani leaders that, he could share a lunch with the President, at the University of Nairobi, while they were studying, and they are good buddies

Kitui Central Member of Parliament Dr Makali Mulu has endorsed his closest critic former KBC News Anchor Bonnie Musambi to National Appointment job by President William Ruto

While welcoming the President and recognizing elected MPs nationally who attended Ruto’s thanksgiving service at AIC Kitui town, Makali said that they recognize the government of the day but would remain in opposition to provide constructive oversight for the government businesses

He, however, sought Ruto’s administration to remember many leaders from Ukambani region who did not make it in the recent concluded General Election for the government appointment at the national level

“Your Excellency, you have given us Cabinet Secretaries, nominating former Governor Alfred Mutua and our former Deputy Governor Madam Penina Malonza, and we sincerely thank you for that-but kuna wanasiasa wengi ambao walishindwa na tunaomba uwapatie kazi tafadhali.

Kuna kijana mmoja hapa alikuwa wako wa UDA, nilimwangusha vibaya sana [laughter] kwaivyo nakuomba umpatie kazi huko juu kwa sababu najua anaweza fanya kazi nzuri,’’ Makali endorsed Musambi for top job

The smartly and candid Wiper party legislator also made another plea requesting President’s intervention for the affected residents alongside the Kibwezi-Mutomo-Kitui-Mwingi road to be compensated after they were displaced during the construction of bitumen standard

“Naomba pia president wahadhiriwa wa barabara ya Kibwezi-Mutomo-Kitui-Mwingi waweze kufidiwa kama wale wengine, wa hapa mutomo-kitui na mwingi ndio bado kupewa compensation, tafadhali tunaomba,’’ Makali pleaded.

He also appealed President to act swiftly in solving the inter-community clashes between the pastoralists and kitui farmers whom their lands have in recent past been evaded by Somalis and left two people dead

“We are very peace loving people, but it doesn’t mean that when we are provoked, can’t react, we can even extremely! So please help our people, we can’t allow anyone of us to be butchered by the camel herders,’’ He reiterated

In his part, Mwala Member of Parliament Engineer Vincent Musyoka alias Kawaya thanked the President William Ruto for finding time to visit Kitui county and promised him to deliver more votes from the region come 2027

“Mr President, you are very special to us, we never expected two Cabinet slots, it caught us by surprise, and we have known that you will really deliver to all Kenyans regardless of where you garnered more votes or not.

At the same time, Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya also urged President Ruto to consider giving Members of County Assembly, Ward Development Fund [WDF] just like Members of Parliament manage the National-Government Constituency Development Fund [NG-CDF]

The first younger speaker in the whole country who was elected by fifty two MCAs out of 56, made another appeal from the Head of State to consider establishing Exquisite State Lounge within Kitui County so that Presidents can be visiting them and have a cozy sleep whenever they wish just like other regions in the country
