Bata shoe company PLC has refuted reports that they’re closing down their Limuru branch.
In a statement to public on Saturday 10th June, the company stated that they are under a “normal annual maintenance shut down” that happens during the off peak season.
“We are a heritage business, strategic in operations for robust commercial output, thus seasonal breaks in production are within the scope,” the statement read.
According to Managing Director Benson Okuku is that all other branches are open with great teams ready to serve customers with a wide variety of shoes in their ample stocks- to provide quality footwear for all
The statement came after the company trolled in the internet, netizens alleging that the company has closed down their operations in Kenya following Finance Bill, 2023.
This would have resulted to mass retrenchment on thousands of their employees scattered across the 150 stores across the country
