Mombasa: Rift Valley MPs Launches Kalenjin Association

Section of legislators from Rift Valley have urged mombasa residents with decent of Kalenjin to emulate coastal behaviours and conduct their affairs in a more cohesive manner

While Speaking Alongside the Residents who were born and brought up from coastal province, the legislators rallied behind President William Ruto’s leadership, advising them to have more unified association which can catalyst their economic growth and have social bargaining power

The MPs were led by Marakweti East Constituency Member of Parliament David Kangongo Bowen, where they launched Mombasa-based Kalenjin association, with a aim to bring together all rift valley people living in coast to chart way forward for their interest

Bowen told safinews.co.ke on Monday 10th February, that they have advised kalenjins living in Mombasa to learn coastal region’s behaviour and start investing as if they are integral part of coast people without showing any signs of tribalism

“Our call as leaders during the launch of kalenjin association of mombasa is to see united and prosperous people living in coast. Have an umbrella body where they can champion their development goals altogether,” Kangongo stated, adding t hat any other interested person can join mombasa based kalenjin association too

He defended President William Ruto’s development scorecard while urging them to be good ambassadors of Kenya Kwanza Administration which is headed by their son

Kangongo is the Chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on Irrigation, Water and Blue Economy, assuring them that government is committed to offer incentives to local investors investing in tourism and fishing markets

While backing the sentiments, Emurua Dikir Member of Parliament Johanna Ng’eno claimed that President Ruto is one of the best President Kenya has ever had convincing residents of Mombasa to stand with the current regime

Ng’eno warned opposition leaders from soaring seeds of division, the remarks which were directly perceived as send to wiper lieutenants who are camping in the region encouraging people to apply for National Identification cards.

The push, is to, bolster voting block in coast regions which comprises of counties, where majority of voters are perceived as opponents to the current regime

Locals also, lauded President Ruto’s achievements in coast region, claiming that since he was elected, many projects have been developed and commenced during his reign.

They also commended of reduced incidents of insecurity as well as government’s agenda to provide good working environment for their businesses to thrive under minimal inputs
