Governor Mutula Jnr Condems Police Brutality

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jrn has condemned the police brutality for causing mayhem and killing innocent Kenyans and bystanders during yesterday’s countrywide picketing 

In his unflinching statement to the newsroom, Mutula has condemned the killing of unarmed Brian Muendo who was shot dead by police at Poster Estate in Emali town along Mombasa-Nairobi Highway

The Governor has threatened to walk into the depth of the heinous acts of violations to humanity in finding justice for the family of the late Muendo  

According to her mother, Miriam Mbithe, Muendo was not part of the demonstrators and he’d walked out from their house, just gone about for a normal household duties 

Mutula therefore, has, called upon the Independent Policing Oversight Authority [IPOA] to immediately launch an investigation into the murder of Brian Muendo and bring to book culprits who inflicted murderous act onto the bright soul 

“Brian Muende was scheduled to join Kenyatta University in the upcoming KUCCPS admission. 

Following these acts of police using excessive force against innocent Kenyan, I call upon Independent Policing Oversight Authority [IPOA] to promptly investigate the culpable officers and bring those responsible into account,” Part of the statement read.

Even in as much as security officers have the onerous duty of maintaining law and order, Mutula has maintained as a professional lawyer quoting Article 37 of the constitution of Kenya which is unequivocal on the matters 

“That every person has a right peaceably and unarmed to assemble,  to picket, to hold demonstrations, and to present petitions to the public authorities,” He fired
