MPs Donya Aburi, Dr Rachael Nyamai Advises Tabaka Girls’ Students Over Slut

Success is not defined by one’s  background and where you schooled in your hieve years but the determination and hard work that propels one to the ladder of becoming a national figure 

These are the words of Kisii Woman Representative  Donya Aburi on Tuesday 8th July, when she hosted tens of students from St Mary’s Tabaka Girls’ Primary School at the precincts of National Assembly

Cheerful students and Teachers thronged at the Parliament buildings hawk-eyed to grasp tenets of success that made the former radio presenter become noticeably famous to be elected County Member of Parliament 

“I have organised this career tour so that you can get exposure and learn many things in Parliament. All these Members of Parliament you can see are learned so please, never allow anyone to destruct you or despise where you come from,” Donya stated

On her part, Kitui South Member of Parliament Dr Rachael Nyamai who was invited to give a piece of advice to the pupils told them to avoid being sexually  misused by marauding men 

Accompanying her counterparts MPs,  from Kisii County led by Majority Chief Whip Silvanus Osoro and Kisii Woman Representative Donya Aburi, Nyamai explained how far she has come from being a Member of Parliament 

She recounted how her mother wouldn’t spell her name but she made to be a PhD holder at a very tender age of 33 years old beating all the odds from a very remote areas in Kitui South 

Being her third term without losing an election since 2013, the National Assembly Departmental Committee Chair for Lands and Physical Planning told girls to remain focused and determined to become something emulatable

She was giving a piece of advice to St Mary’s Tabaka Girls’ Primary School Pupils who had attended Parliament Buildings on a career tour sponsored by their County Woman Representative Donya Aburi who is the former radio presenter

Backing the words, Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo told the pupils to report to her through their woman representatives any forms of sexual harassment as she is the champion of the girls 

“Tell your teacher to tell your woman representatives to tell me any man who will prey around with your private parts. I am a lawyer by profession and have been fighting for girl child and a woman in the society.

Never allow any man telling you that you won’t get married because of pursuing your dream career, soldier on until you reach climax even if men in your society reject you will get others from foreign countries like mine is from Zimbabwe,” Millie Odhiambo encouraged girls 

Osoro said all members of parliament have got lucrative careers that they left to serve their constituents thus learners should not be misguided
