Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani under whose office falls the Tourism, Hospitality and Game Reserves earlier today held talks with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officers on operationalizing the Kitui South Game Reserve.
The KWS team, led by the County Warden Jamal Rashid, expressed their readiness to work closely with the county administration towards promoting tourism in the region.
The meeting, which also brought on board officers from the county department of Tourism, Hospitality and Game Reserves, was held at Ithumba KWS Base in Kanziko/Simisi Ward, Kitui South Sub-County.
The team later conducted aerial patrol of the Kitui South Game Reserve .
They eventually visited Kalalani KWS base in Mutha/Mathima Ward where they discussed setting up a County Rangers Camp.
Assistant Directors Margaret Thomas, Jane Nyamu and Kitui South senior Warden Vincent Nzau were also present.
