Mashujaa Kitui: Governor Malombe Urges President Ruto More Projects

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe today used the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Ithookwe Stadium to appeal to President William Ruto to prioritize key development projects in the county.

The Governor requested for completion of Umaa Dam to boost water supply, Enziu River Bridge in Mwingi and Kithomboani Market to support displaced women traders.

The county chief also noted the the upgrading of the Wikililye–Kavisuni–Thwake–Wote Road as key and completion of the Mulutu–Ithiiani–Tiva–Kiliko and Makutano–Mbusyani–Ithimani–Ikolania–Ithiiani roads.

He pointed out the ongoing and proposed modern markets in Kakongo and Kamuwongo, 2,000 affordable housing units, and a Kenya Utalii College campus* at Tiva as key projects that will grow the county.

Malombe thanked the national government for projects like the 10,000-seater Ithookwe Stadium, Kitui Mini State Lodge, and Ithookwe Airstrip, and called for continued partnership in transforming Kitui.

Further, he honored Kenya’s heroes from freedom fighters to local icons like Mbiti Mati, Kitili Mwendwa, and Nzamba Kitonga and paid tribute to the late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga as a true national hero.
