Members of Parliament from Abagusii community have accused President William Ruto for allowing prosecution tp their members of community holding high positions in office
Speaking on Tuesday 5th December, after the arrest of the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakango, the MPs termed the incident as perturbing and political to silence professionals executing their duties diligently
While calling for her immediate release, the legislators noted that whenever President William Ruto is away, there must be some politically incastigated profiling
“We want to tell President Ruto that we are pierced off and annoyed by the arrest and you will make the people of Kisii hate you forever.
We can’t allow Ms Nyakango to be prosecuted for telling the truth that the government is overborrowing for the projects which do not exist,” Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka revealed
They condemned with strongest terms possible the arrest of Controller of Budget Ms Margaret Nyakango for offences she committed before appointment.
They have demanded office of the Director of Public Prosecutions [ODPP] to stop being used politically to mayhem and malign individual’s hard earned career
Onyonka said they are pierced off and annoyed by the attempts of the President to attack professionals from abagusii for telling the truth what’s happening in government
The MPs sounded warning that they will not allow the President to continue attacking their community
“We will not allow the kicking out of our community from office and hand over members of your community. We don’t have any other high profile professional in this government,” Onyonka reiterated
The legislators further condemned the act calling it cowardice by the executive as they called upon people of goodwill to come out and resist this persecution of civil servants
“This is another joke that has been bought to affect the hearts of abagusii community. We shall defend Nyakango against this malicious charges levelled against her. Kisii County MP Dorice Donya stated
