Reinstated Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has termed  United States diplomats’ travel ban on section of Kenya Kwanza Politicians as a cosmetic exercise

Speaking to safinews.co.ke on Friday 21st July, immediately after the alleged intelligence reports from the US and EU envoy, Kioni noted the targeted politicians should stay out of the country

Hi SG, what’s your take on alleged travel ban imposed to section of Kenya Kwanza leaders by US and EU? “Atually they should allow them to go out. We are always better off without them around,”. Kioni replied

Kioni, who has remained immovable over the control of Jubilee Party, an affiliate to Azimio coalition, added that, infiltration of Kenya Kwanza influence, has made his counterpart EALA MP Kanini Kega become an indecisive

He further took an issue with the US and EU diplomats for concentrating on nonsensical matters of travel bans instead of discussing the fundamental issues that the opposition has been raising to the government

“It is too little, too late.. Could be cosmetic, and the cost of living has not been lowered by those bans.

Our problem is not them but the issues we have put on the table. Cost of living, IEBC, server, multiparty, inclusive,”. He added

Opposition has maintained that government should lower the cost of living, reconstitute Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission [IEBC] open servers, allow multiparty democracy and have an inclusive government

On matters of Wiper Democratic Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka meeting foreign diplomats, they confirmed to have chosen him to drive shuttle diplomacy with the western nations over the killings of opposition’s protesters by government

Kalonzo met 14 ambassadors and high commissioners from United States and European Union countries to discuss modalities of ending protests and addressing the pertinent issues they have accused the government over misdoing

Apparently, US and EU imposed a travel ban on Trade and Investment Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria together with Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungw’a as well as Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro over their derogatory remarks

The trio alongside battery of others from Mt Kenya region and Rift Valley region have been labelled by Western nations as responsible for the violence and killings that was perpetrated on Azimio protesters last week.
