Its against this backdrop that business are now calling for a joint effort in curbing the sell of ilict goods

According to the anti-counterfeit authority in kenya, most counterfeit goods are fast moving in the country, among them; soaps, detergents, food products, alcoholic drinks, beverages , electricals and electronic equipments, vehicle spare parts among others
The international adviser, AGA-AFRICA, John Edozie, noted that Kenya’s counterfeit business is valued to be 116 billion shillings, causing government to lose about Sh11 billion into counterfeiting and piracy
This was one of the measures during the opening of three day symposium in Nairobi, to discuss and address the menace of counterfeit and illicit goods as well as intellectual property crime
