Disciplinary Committee probing the recent conduct of nominated Senator Karen Nyamu in Dubai has pushed hearings to January 20, 2023
The controversial politician had been scheduled to appear before the committee on Friday morning but she wrote to the committee requesting a postponement of the hearing
“Whereas the reasons given are not satisfactory, we shall nevertheless allow you the time you requested to prepare your response adequately for the hearing of the summons issued against you,” the committee chairperson Charles Njenga said in his letter to Nyamu.
Nyamu is supposed to appear before the party disciplinary committee over her ‘shameful’ conduct on December 16.
The lawmaker caused drama at Mugithi singer Samidoh’s event in Dubai, clashing with his wife Edday Nderitu.
A video clip of Nyamu being ejected by security personnel during the concert went viral on social media sparking mixed reactions from Kenyans.
In another clip, Nyamu is seen dancing on stage as Samidoh and Akorino singer Karangu Muraya entertain revellers only to be whisked away after a mini altercation
The senator later blamed her actions on alcohol, a habit she vowed to quit come January 2023
