  • IEBC has locked out Kalonzo from contesting presidential race
  • They had initially indicated to clear him having fulfilled all requirements no one knows what become otherwise
  • On 12th May, he endorsed Raila, May 16th announced his presidential bid, threatened to ditch Azimio officially, instead fled to UK

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has barred Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka from the presidential race.

The Wiper Democratic Party leader is now balancing his political career into oblivion after the above said Commission (IEBC) struck his name off from possible shortlisted presidential aspirants

The electoral body has now narrowed down the number of candidates from fifty-six candidates to sixteen, with more likely to be dropped.

The reason behind removal of Kalonzo’s name from IEBC might be more than what meets the eye but political pundits might argue he had joined Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition endorsing Raila Odinga

However, later on ditched Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja after he was overlooked for the running mate position and boldly or tactically launched his presidential bid

What baffles majority is that IEBC had indicated to clear him since he submitted all requirements before the deadline but now is reported to have failed to meet the commission’s requirements, contradicting itself.

Its claimed that, Kalonzo is among forty presidential aspirants who have been locked out of the state house race by the electoral body for failing to meet a list of stringent requirements.

Only sixteen presidential aspirants have been shortlisted for the nomination process that kicks off on Sunday, May 29, to determine who will make it to the ballot in the August 9 General Election.

Eight presidential aspirants are sponsored by political parties, while only eight out of the forty-six independent hopefuls have made it to the shortlist. The list is expected to get thinner as IEBC continues to shortlist them.

Kalonzo missed out on the stringent measures set by the IEBC, including the submission of forty-eight thousand signatures from registered voters from not less than twenty-four counties.

It might be true or using mischievous means to  convince and justify  the whole world his comeback to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition or tactical move by the electoral body to achieve their objectives, best known to them.
