Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has been cleared by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to vie for Nairobi City County’s top seat
Speaking immediately after clearance on Tuesday 7th June, Sakaja promised that his government will work for all people and ensure quality service is attainable
“Nairobi people should avoid looking at the tribe when voting, let’s consider performance and leaders who have interest of Nairobi at heart,” Sakaja said
He is was very optimistic that he will wij the August polls and make his opponents a run for their money
“Our match is unstoppable, our faith is unshakeable and our victory is an inevitable, we must make Nairobi work,” He added
His clearance comes amid claims from critics that he does not possess a university degree as he did not graduate from the University of Nairobi

A few days ago, Sakaja was forced to publicly answer the degree issue where he dismissed the letter circulating online that he didn’t graduate from University of Nairobi as propaganda
“Those are works of my competitors, it’s just bare propaganda from my competitors who are circulating purported letter from University of Nairobi
Do I look like someone who have not gone to school, ignore the propaganda being peddled on social media, I have more academic credentials than what they are looking for,” Sakaja maintained
For the better part of Thursday, June 2, social media platforms were buzzing with documents alleged to be from the university being shared.
According to the purported to have been generated by the institution’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of academics, Sakaja was indeed admitted to UoN.
However, the document stated that he did not complete his studies, and there was no record of his graduation
