Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja now claims someone from deep state persuaded him to accept Ksh 1 billion offer to shelve his gubernatorial ambitions

The senator who has been deviant, unbowing to the pressure mounted against him regarding his academic credentials, claimed a delegation had been sent to plead on him, to cease contesting for city’s top seat

“I was offered Ksh 1 billion by someone who had been sent from State House to deliver the news to me so that I can drop from running for Nairobi City County gubernatorial position but I refused the bid,” Sakaja alleged.

Mr Sakaja made these serious allegations on Thursday at Radio Jambo, the gubernatorial hopeful said he had plans of becoming a Governor at 37 years old and he would not exchange that dream for money

He also disclosed that he had also been offered a Cabinet Secretary post if he dropped his bid but he vehemently devalued all of them

This comes from a recent background of a bitter relationship between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta where they differed ideologically and grew apart when he came to know they had different plans for Nairobi.

He claimed that Uhuru’s plans for the city contradicted his and that is where their differences started.

The vocal senator blames the matter on Uhuru, insisted the whole issue had been grossly politicised.

Sakaja accused his opponents and the ‘deep state’ for his woes saying he appeared as a threat to them.

“This is all about politics. I have gone to school and I have my certificate. My opponents have seen that I have the potential and I have the people’s votes,” Sakaja added
