Governor Malombe Receives Transition Report

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has this evening received a report by the Assumption of the Office of County Governor Committee in a brief meeting in his office.

The report was presented by the committee’s chairperson and Acting County Secretary Kimanzi Zakayo alongside other members including various chief officers, representatives from NPS, NIS, County Commissioner and the Governors’ nominees.

The report encompasses an up to date assets and liabilities register, a complete list of all bank accounts and reconciled balances, a report of staff establishment per department, a comprehensive report on county entities or corporations, a report of all ongoing projects including donor funded projects, an up to date report on all pending legal cases; and county source of funding as stipulated in the Assumption of the Office of Governor Act, 2019.

Receiving the report, Governor Malombe thanked the committee for their invaluable role in ensuring a smooth transition of the county’s top leadership.

The report comes barely one month where he had given an ultimatum of thirty days to the assumption committee to expedite the process so that he can embark on rolling the most prioritised issues
