Embu Senator Alexander Munyi Mundigi has taken swipe at Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of dishonesty and dismissing claims that Government operatives are plotting to disrupt his upcoming campaign tour in Mbeere North.

Speaking to journalists in Embu town, Mundigi tore into Gachagua’s allegations, terming them untrue, misleading, and misplaced. “Those claims are pure falsehoods, baseless, misplaced, and meant to cause unnecessary tension,” he said.

He went further to question the former Deputy President’s recent public remarks, suggesting they raise concerns about his well-being. “Some of the things he has been saying lately raise serious concerns. His mental state needs to be evaluated,” the Senator stated.

Mundigi also fired back at Gachagua’s suggestion that he would only serve one term, insisting that his performance over the past three years speaks for itself. “My record is clear, and I’m confident the people of Embu will renew my mandate,” he said.

Responding to Gachagua’s allegation that the UDA party intends to rig the upcoming Mbeere North by-election, Mundigi dismissed the claims and countered with his own. “UDA is not rigging anything. In fact, it is Gachagua and his team who are attempting to interfere with this election,” he remarked.

The Senator urged Mbeere North residents to make a thoughtful decision in the November 27, 2025 by-election. “Vote wisely, choose someone who will bring real development to this constituency,” he appealed.

He further called on Embu residents to continue supporting the Kenya Kwanza government led by President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

“This government’s development track record is visible everywhere. Support it so we can continue receiving projects in the remaining two years,” he said, urging residents to disregard Gachagua’s political messaging. “The opposition he is trying to lead has nothing new or meaningful to offer,” he concluded.
