East African Community, the ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Hon. Peninah Malonza slammed Kitui East legislator Nimrod Mbai for alluding that the shoes donated by Zero Barefoot Campaign and Environment under the Patronage of Miss Charlene Ruto are made of plastics materials

In a fierce and resounding warning to the legislator, CS Malonza told him off and stop dragging the first daughter Charlene Ruto into uncouth and dirty politics aimed at causing disunity and bad blood between the leaders affiliated to the ruling party United Democratic Alliance 

Ms Malonza pointed out the sponsors of the attacks that are causing a lot of unease directing Kitui South MP Rachel Nyamai and her newly found critique to desisit from discrediting programmes with the blessings of the President William Ruto 

“I want to call those disseminating falsehoods about the shoes being donated by the first daughter to tell the constituents what they have done or else donate other shoes to the less privileged school going children,” Malonza pointed out 

In furtherance to bottop up economic agenda spearheaded by the President, Malonza warned local leaders to foster unity and show the country that community is united and needs development not politicizing national government programmes 

First Daughter Charlene Ruto noted that any person can bring development or cushion the lives of children by giving back to society to alleviate the lives of needy instead of becoming an obstacle

This, the duo said their benevolence is out of politics and thus just offering worth needed essential services to the locals experiencing hardships 

The Chief Executive Officer of the campaign Victor Kip Chepkelet said that their interest is to see every school going children to walk to school with a leather shoes and descent uniforms

“Our mission of starting Zero Barefoot Campaign and Environment was to see every child have leather shoes and when we approached first daughter, was very much touched and offered to sponsor the movement with her own resources,” Chepkelet said

The CEO appealed other leaders to also emulate such good hearted people and stop attacking and opposing anything good that comes to the community
