Businesses upswing as Charlene Ruto, CS Malonza’s Entourage Camps at Mutomo

The entourage that accompanied President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto and East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Hon.  Peninah Malonza-EGH left an economic surge in Mutomo and Ikutha Sub Counties within Kitui South Constituency  

Both Malonza’s guests far from Nairobi, Mombasa and that of Charlene Ruto,  drew significant attention of an increased visitors within the two towns, marking positive of booming businesses like bars and restaurants, butcheries as well as bodaboda operators and taxi drivers 

Her humble admirable stature attracted villagers at the residence of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Hon Peninah Malonza-EGH, engaging with the community activities that had a positive ripple effect on local businesses 

She knelt down while planting trees and watering them just like a daughter of a pleasant farmer, held hands less privileged pupils, danced with them and mentored others, whom they prayed to be like her when they grow up 

While distributing 3000 leather shoes to over 20 different primary schools within Mutomo and Ikutha Sub Counties, the first daughter of the President challenged her critics to bring more development and programmes that are aimed at cushioning the lives of suffering pupils instead of empty talks and theatrics

The donation of shoes to school going children in hardship areas really showed her commitment to serve the community and philanthropic heart-leaving the comfort of palatial homes and state house to travel on far remote areas like Mutha, Simisi, Kasaala, Matonya and Ilengi Primary Schools where wildlife animals are their obvious guests 

Charlene’s samaritarian deeds was received by locals earning her a kamba name, “Mwende” meaning the “loved one”. Her dynamic involvement attracted many visitors to Mutomo contributing to the town’s bustling atmosphere 

The influx of visitors from national government, county government and stakeholders and heightened activities brought significant economic benefits to Mutomo 

Patrol stations, goat sellers and guests rooms recorded an increased spike of economic boost, as the town accommodated over 200 visitors during the four day stay of the first daughter Charlene Ruto, from Sunday 2nd June to Wednesday 5th June, 2024

This surge provided much needed boost to the local economy, demonstrating how a high profile visits can positively impact small towns 

The combination of philanthropic activities and interactions with elected leaders created a vibrant strong working relationship that will see greater change in the few days to come 

As it mirrors queenly visit characterised by royal dressings, it highlighted the potential for strategic community engagement to drive local economic growth as well as the need to scale up  hospitality industry within the towns   

The continues visits is a welcome to many local businesses and is a well thought proposal that every leader from the area is now feeling challenged, however, better late than never; they just need to emulate CS Peninah Malonza instead of fighting her 

Mutomo cottages alone accommodated more than 50 guests of high profile individuals including the CEO of Zero Barefoot Campaign and Environment Mr  Victor Kiprop and the son of Uasin Gishu Governor Mr Kelvin Bii as well as former Kitui Rural lawmaker Hon. Charles Nyamai among others 

All Malonza’s friends including a budge of digital team from Nairobi challenged whoever was crossing their figures to do much more better for the community instead of applying more energy on politicizing relief food and leather shoes donations
