Embattled Chief Administrative Secretaries have now vowed to move to Court of Appeal to challenge the ruling by the High Court outlawing their appointments

Led by former Nominated Senator Dr Isaac Mwaura, who had been appointed in the office of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, noted that, they have a right to participate in the national duties

“We are going to petition the Chief Administrative Secretaries ruling at the Court of Appeal and we are very convinced that we will be successful.

We are also Kenyans and we have  right to participate in the national duties,” Mwaura remarked.

Dr Mwaura, who has been advocating for the rights of the voiceless, challenged the decision by the court judge bench on how they okayed predecessor’s appointments, yet rejecting successor’s

“There is no way you can say that Uhuru Kenyatta who had 41 CASs was right while Ruto who has 50 CASs is wrong, on which grounds do you justify the former and unjustify the latter,” He questioned harshly.

Accompanied by Joash Maangi and other Chief Administrative Secretaries at Milimani Law Courts, Mwaura, chastised the opposition for dragging the government to court over every project and or policy it implements, claiming that the ongoing lawsuits are stalling progress.

“The whole issue of associating the CAS issue with the cost of living is a political issue….now that there have been no CASs in office, has the cost of living gone down,” He had observed early in the morning.

Backing the sentiments and aggrieved by the three judge ruling, vocal Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey said he will enjoin CASs to the Court of Appeal to stop the today’s ruling from effective

“I am going to join my friends at the Court of Appeal to appeal the High Court ruling stopping appointments of 50 CASs because they have overlooked case merits,” Cherargey maintained

Joash said that for the last 30 years he has been in legal profession, today’s ruling was awkward as it did not factor the important role the assistant cabinet secretaries would undertake in the making of governance

“Even if we do away with these 50 appointments the cost of living will still be high because there are other factors, these are just 50 people in the framework of government with over 700,000 people,”

They insisted that regardless of how court rules, the cost of living will remain, and urged Kenyans to accept the status quo and work hard to resuscitate the kneeling economy without bashing them
