Sabina Chege Injured as Wetangula suspends 7 MPs

Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has been injured after allegedly being hit by a bottle as chaos rocked the house during a ruling by Speaker Moses  Wetangula on her removal as Deputy Minority Whip.

Hell broke loose when Wetangula retained her [Sabina] as Deputy Minority Whip prompting both political side to haul insults to each other

In the melee, on Thursday 8th June, afternoon session, chaos degenerated into a fistfight that led Chege being hit hard by a bottle on her hand leaving her seriously injured 

The Speaker was forced to suspend the session for fifteen minutes to allow the temperatures cool down but when they resumed the sittings, jeetering continued 

This, orchestrated, Wetangula to suspend seven Member of Parliament for a period of two weeks for disorderly and dishonourarable conduct during the parliamentary session 

They include Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, Rosa Buyu [Kisumu] Sabina Chege, TJ Kajwang’ [Ruaraka] will be out for two weeks, while Fatuma Muyansi [Kilifi] and Catherine Omanyo will be out for five days, Joyce Kamene[Machakos] for only two sittings 

Wetangula ruled that, “The said Members of Parliament among other things defied a ruling of the Speaker, made disruptive utterances, used violence against a member of the house, and acted in a manner to the deferment of the house.

I am saddened at what happened to this house, I have consistently refrained myself from invoking Standing Orders on matters discipline into this House,” Wetangula said amid booes and jeers from the Minority side.
