The Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission is demanding the release of the three technology personnel arrested yesterday from Venezuela 

The three, no sooner had landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) than they were bounded by detectives and put in a solitary confinement for thorough investigation by the security details

Details in our possession told  safinews.co.ke as on Thursday 21st July, that, the three gurus were  contracted by Wafula Chebukati led commission in an unclear circumstances and in a questionable procedures

“Despite of the fact that the law gives IEBC auctoritas potestas, the legal audacity to outsource experts, there are what we call res publica (public interests) and that must be factored in especially in a such an exercise.

It raises more fundamental questions than answers, how did the commission came about to contract foreigners Smartmatic International B.V for the supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, support and maintenance of Kenya Integrated Election Management System without availing such procurement process to the public,” An anonymous source told safinews.co.ke 

The three men including a Venezuela flew into the country from London carrying sixteen rolls of election-related stickers with them in their luggage before detectives handcuffed them at Airport for interrogation

This, has made Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati come out defending the three men claiming all was well when it was not well as per the detectives
