  • Netizens have been left mouth open following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allegations that his deputy William Ruto wanted to overthrow him.
  • In a meeting on Saturday 26th March, 2022 at State House where he met over 3,000 Kikuyu elders, the head of state described Ruto as a power-hungry politician who wanted him out of power.

President said that the second in command planned for his ouster from the government by attempting to rally Jubilee MPs against him.

“At some point, he wanted me impeached by the parliament,” Uhuru quoted saying.

He told the elders that the deputy president was from the word go interested in succession politics. As a result, the president said he had to cut ties with him due to his open sabotage of the government that he was supposed to be working for.

According to Kuria, there is nothing wrong with Ruto trying to overthrow Uhuru as alleged.

The vocal legislator said ODM leader Raila Odinga was the first one to attempt through his mock swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park in January 2018.

However, Kuria said both President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM chief Raila Odinga have buried their political hatchet and agreed to work together through Handshake

“Even though the truce between the two has pushed Ruto to the periphery.

“He was sidelined from government operations and Uhuru would be seen with Raila inspecting state projects,” Kuria added.

Similarly, as Uhuru brought on board Raila after he tried to overthrow him, Kuria asked the president to work with his DP if the impeachment allegation is true.
