Kenya’s most followed musician Kelvin Kioko alias Bahati is now smiling all the way to August polls and subsequently to parliament after Jubilee party returned his nomination certificate
Bahati’s certificate had been recalled on April 2022, immediately after he was issued with it by Jubilee party following the controversial zoning criteria emanated from President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM chief Raila Odinga
Speaking on Friday 13th, after handing over the certificate to Bahati who is contesting Mathare Parliamentary seat, Jubilee’s Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni said they have solved the matter and wished him all the best
“We are very much proud of Bahati, he representing everything you hear about this country, even the people who work hard from nowhere!
Take the opportunity now, you have an equal opportunity like any other Kenyan and thus why we have you hear,” Kioni said
He further said that even when there was difficulties within the party, they thought him and that he should campaign good gospel to Azimio for granting him an opportunity
Sharing the same podium,Bahati thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance presidential hopeful Raila Odinga for giving Kenyan youths chance to elect their own leader
‘I am not in tears any more, as you can see, have a Jubilee certificate with me, original, it’s not Bahati who is happy but majority of kenyans are now happy
I can assure you that the next member of parliament from Mathare is me, i will campaign not only Mathare but the whole of Nairobi for Azimio government,” Bahati noted
