Popular blogger and political commentator Pauline Njoroge has been arrested by Watamu DCI in Kilifi County

This is in background of the continued arrests for the President William Ruto’s critics

Recently, Ms Njoroge claimed that government had offered her monthly salary of Sh500,000 to join the Kenya Kwanza Administration but she declined

An officer aware of the developments said they wanted to talk to her in connection with a tweet she had posted.

“There are things we are checking with her,” said an officer who asked not to be named.

She has been an ardent critic of President William Ruto’s administration.

Njoroge has been using her social media platforms like Twitter which has 6,361 followers to criticise the current regime.

One of her tweets can go up to over 500,000 views with majority of whom leave their comments; some admonishing her and others praising her boldness

Ahead of the 2022 General Elections, she was among close associates of Former President Uhuru Kenyatta who led campaigns for ODM Leader Raila Odinga.

After the elections, she maintained her loyalty to Uhuru and has been vocal in her criticism of the Ruto regime.

A few weeks ago, she alleged that some people in the government approached her with an offer to join the government but she said she declined.

While countering former ODM leader Raila Odinga’s aide Silas Jakakimba, who said  it was during Uhuru’s aide when money was being lost massively, Njoroge on June 7, tweeted:

My brother Silas Jakakimba, you are here claiming how the previous regime left a big financial hole that Ruto is trying to fix, yet last week you and your very senior friends in the government were offering me Sh500,000 per month to cross over?

Where was that money going to come from if the country was in a financial hole? You should just have kept off this topic because I and I know the truth.”
