Prof Fred Ogola is preparing guns to move to court over deliberate discrimination of Luo people by government

He warned should Azimio leader Raila Odinga do not represent their interests, OLU will take over

KeNHA excluded Luo Nyanza in the 1st and 2nd Quarter of road development and routine maintenance projects for the fiscal year

The outspoken Scholar turned Social and Governance Critique, Prof Fred Ogola, has fired a warning short to Kenya National Highway Authority [KeNHA] for deliberately excluding Nyanza region in the flagged road maintenance development projects

Speaking to Journalists on Thursday 17th August, Ogola contemplated that dialogue is not helping interests of the people if government would intentionally overlook the region’s routine maintenance programmes for the current financial year

“Nyanza is not Kenya, as no single Road in the region in this tender which has the rest of other 7 regions,” Prof Stated in his social media account wondering the criteria being used to award others projects that excludes luo Nyanza.

According to KeNHA’s published website, it has released 1st and 2nd Quarter Long tenders for Road Development and routine maintenance of 105 road projects leaving Nyanza out.

Prof Ogola, who is the current Chair for a civil society lobby group, [Operation Linda Ugatuzi] called on  President William Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga to intervene on the matter if they need peace with the people of the region

“This means Gachagua has kept his word that Kenya Kwanza Government is for particular shareholders, for those who did not vote for the finance bill act!

But the question we should ask then, why do the Luo people pay for fuel levy if their roads are not being maintained or being constructed?,” He questioned

He further took issue with the Azimio la Umoja one Kenya coalition Leader Raila Odinga for leaving out the interests of Luo Nyanza in the bipartisan talks

“We are going to petition National Cohesion and Integration Commission [NCIC], National Assembly and Senate to seek statements on how national resources should be shared equally and fairly.

We would like to hear how parliament is representing people of Nyanza if such things can happen,” He threatened

Additionally, the court should make pronouncements that as such things involving resource allocation to the magnitude of billions, how can a region be ignored

“Before such big tenders are done, there’s need for public participation to agree how these resources are being shared because we believe the Commission on Revenue Allocation [CRA] must have slept on their job and we are going to petition them,” Operation Linda Ugatuzi Chair pointed out the anomaly with the CRA

He warned that, currently, the government is being run as a private enterprise where some people meet and decide with  community’s resresources where they will go in detriment to the interests of the people
