Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has appointed board members of the newly established tissue and organ transplant authority 

In a Gazette notice dated 5th August, Kagwe appointed vocal former President of the National Nurses’ Association of Kenya Mr Alfred Obengo to be one of the Board of Directors of Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority 

“In exercise of powers conferred by  paragraph 6(1) (f) of Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority Order 2022, the Cabinet Secretary for health appoints-

Janet Wahito Kabeberi, Alfred Obengo and Bernard Mwinzi, to be members of the Board of Directors of Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority, Order, 2022 for a period of three (3) years with effect from 5th August, 2022,” Gazette Notice 

Expressing his gratitude to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe after safinews.co.ke‘s last week episodé, Obengo thanked the two for recognising their roles

“I thank HE the President for creating this Agency and express my deepest gratitude to the CS Health for recognising the role of nurses in this arena,” Obengo stated. 

He had last week wrote a long press release, which we endeavoured capitalizing, applauding Kagwe how their bromance in health matters has seen the light of radical changes in the docket 

The Authority will handle all tissue and human transplant organs in the country as well East and Central Africa 

It took over from Kenya National Blood Transfusion, Tissue and Human Organ  Transplant Services Department which was domiciled in the Ministry of Health, as it stands now being dissolved
