Nairobi County Assembly Majority Leader Abdi Guyo hired a chopper to rescue victims of banditry attack at Chinchoftu area , Cheran Ward in Isiolo County
The outspoken MCA who came to the rescue of the injured after leaving behind two dead, airlifted the rest to Isiolo County Referral Hospital for treatment
In the incidents, seven people were left seriously injured from the dawn heinous attack suspected to be perpetrated by cattle rustlers from North Eastern
The bandits also ran away with a number of cattle leaving behind residents in fear of their lives and their livestock
From where the attack happened, the hospital is far away at Isiolo town located at 250KM away
During the attack, two people were killed on the spot while one succumbed to excessive bleeding.
Guyo who is eyeing for Isiolo County gubernatorial seat called on the Ministry of Interior to urgently establish rapid deployment units along the border areas to curb cattle rustling and killings.
“If the government sets up rapid deployment units along the border, such command centres within strategic pasture zones will enable swift intervention and avert further loss of life,” said Guyo.
