The National Technical team held a meeting with Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Thursday 13th February, in his office boardroom to set the pace for the preparations of Madaraka Day Celebrations to be held on June 2025.
The multi agency team led by security bosses both from national, regional and county stated that the security will be beeped up ahead of the celebrations to host the head of state
The meeting indicated that efforts will be made to ensure that the stadium and other amenities are ready for the celebrations.

Governor Malombe- expressing his commitment to supporting the joint event, noted that the Kenyan Constitution of 2010 states that governments at both the national and county levels are distinct and interdependent, and shall conduct their mutual relations based on consultation and cooperation.

“I requested the Head of State to host one of the national events in Kitui when we were launching the hospital at Kanyonyoo Border Police Unit in February 2023, and I am grateful that he has made this decision.” Said Governor Malombe.

The national government team was led by Kodeck Makosi, who represented the State Department of Interior and National Administration, Paul Rotich – Regional Commissioner Eastern Region and County Commissioner Kipchumba Rutto.
